Overview
The J-PARC accelerators consist of the following three accelerators;
- LINAC (400MeV)
- RCS (Rapid Cycling Synchrotron) (3GeV)
- MR (Main RingSynchrotron) (30GeV)
Each accelerator produces the world's top class high-energy proton beam, and supplies the beam to the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility, the Hadron Experimental Facility, and the Neutrino Experimental Facility. In each experimental facility, secondary particles such as neutrons, muons, kaons and μ-neutrinos generated by colliding proton beams with targets such as mercury, gold and carbon are used for advanced experiments.
