Status of J-PARC Operations
Dear J-PARC users:
In the RCS accelerator, since April, power supply system for the bending magnets has stopped repeatedly during beam operation, and it takes several hours for the beam recovery. We will continue the MLF user operation while investigating the cause of the stoppage.
On May 5, the beam supply to the hadron experimental facility was suspended due to a short circuit between layers in one of the bending magnets in the 30-GeV Main Ring accelerator. We are in the process of replacing it with a spare magnet and expect to resume the beam supply to the hadron experimental facility around May 20.
