I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year and to present my goals for this year. At the beginning of 2012, I expressed my enthusiasm and expectation. After we have faced and overcome two difficulties, the earthquake disaster and the Hadron incident, I could say confidently that J-PARC staff are able to always overcome considerable challenges as a team, and also that we are extremely capable of carrying out cutting-edge science through the use of high-intensity and high-quality beams, which is of primary importance to J-PARC.
Therefore, the following are my goals for this year :
1) Full recovery of the Hadron Experimental Facility from the 2013 incident including the resumption of user operation
2) Accomplishment of the designed beam power under strengthened J-PARC's safety management and operation system
3) Producing the fruitful outcomes of research at J-PARC and publishing them to the world
In summary, I will proceed to establishing a solid research base as a user facility under the concept of safety first and with the achievement of remarkable research results.
I sincerely hope to realize the world leading science by integrating our effort and your contribution.
